Alt H M on Mac: Multilevel List menu in Word

To open the Multilevel List menu with Alt H M in Word on a Mac, install LightningXL, tap Option, then type H, M. The same keys as Windows, with the same result.

Step by step

1. Install LightningXL

   Download LightningXL, then follow the instructions. Setup takes about two minutes.

2. Select what to act on

   Put the cursor where you want it, or select the text or object.

3. Tap Option, then type H M

   Tap ⌥ on its own to show the key tips, then H for Home, M for Multilevel List. That opens the Multilevel List menu; the next key tips show the items in it.

What Alt H M does

Alt H M opens the Multilevel List menu on the Home tab of Word. Type one more key to pick an item:

• ⌥HMN None
• ⌥HML Change List Level
• ⌥HMD Define New Multilevel List
• ⌥HMS Define New List Style
